Description: This is a gorgeous Antique box. I would say that it is made towards the end of the Qing period. There is some damage in some spots. The word is drying out so in the cover it is shrink a little bit. There are some light cracks where the dovetails connect. overall it is very sturdy though. I checked with an expert, and they said that it is in fact HUANGUALI for the main box and then on the cover there is a trim made out of boxwood. The very bottom of it is made out of some kind of pine. I assume that it was used to store, scholarly, objects or Expensive vases at some points. Period great for a collector and you definitely won’t see another one of these.
