Description: A pair of hand-painted blue and white porcelain fuchin (扶金) scroll weights, which were used to hang at the bottom of a hanging scroll to keep it from swinging in the wind and help keep it straight. Each porcelain ball measures 23.5mm in width and 37.2mm in height, decorated with scenic and lattice motifs on four sides. The pair weighs 168 grams. In excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. The exact age of the pieces is unknown (possibly from the Republic Period or even earlier), but it is definitely earlier than the 1970s when purchased.I want to provide an honest view of both the strengths and flaws of this piece, so please carefully examine the photos, as they form an integral part of the description. To avoid any risk of damage, I do not clean my pieces. The item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Let me know if you have any questions._ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _This piece is part of a collection of approximately 30 items, including ceramics and paintings, that my late father acquired in Hong Kong in 1977, shortly after China's Cultural Revolution. While not all the pieces in the collection come with certificates of authenticity, I am confident in their age, having grown up surrounded by them (I am now in my sixties). Although I’m not an expert on these items, my lack of formal knowledge may actually work to your benefit. I will be posting more of these Chinese artworks, so please stay tuned!_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _IC17
