Description: A very sweet & small child's transferware soft-paste porcelain Motto plate, English, c. 1840--about saucer size though I do not believe it is a saucer--just child-size. A mother and child looking into the heavens as a stream of light comes down from the clouds. KEEP HEAVEN IN YOUR EYE AND EARTH BENEATH YOUR FEET is the message. There are 6 raised embossed floral designs around the rim three of which have been colorfully hand painted. No maker's mark verso. Condition is bright and good--there is a tiny chip on the extreme outer edge of the border toward the bottom of the image 1/8 inch in size or less. Does not appear to go into the rim nor the reverse. Very minor but it makes the price half of what it would be otherwise. If it were filled & colored in it would be all but completely invisible. $2.50 shipping to the lower 48. NICE THING!
