Description: Offered - Antique cdv photograph album featuring 46 cdvs and tintypes. The album once belonged to members of the Buckwalter family of East Nantmeal and Upper Uwchlan Townships of Chester County, PA. On the title page of the album written in ink is "John Buckwalter to Elizabeth Wynn". While most of the photographs are not identified, I believe the first two photographs feature John Johannes Buckwalter and his Daughter Elizabeth Buckwalter Wynn. The following photographs feature John J. Buckwalter's two sons, Samuel and Walter Buckwalter, and possibly their wives on opposing pages. I was able to track down some etchings of the brothers online that match the photographs in the album. Elizabeth Buckwalter Wynn's daughter, Clara Wynn, married into the Rooke family. There are a few photographs identified as Morris Rooke, one featuring the man in a military uniform that is identified on the back in pencil, "Dr. M. Rooke Shenandoah", and another with trimmed image that reads "Compliments of Cousin Morris." There is another photograph in the album that appears to be Morris Rooke that has a Shenandoah, PA backstamp. Another identified photo features a Simon B. Snyder, but I'm unsure how that image relates to the Buckwalter family. Most of the photographs within the album have West Chester, PA backstamps but there are other Pennsylvania locations as well including Norristown, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Lewisburg, Lancaster, Philadelphia, and two from Wilmington, DE. There is a total of 46 images in the album and 4 empty slots. Age - Mid 1800s. Condition - The album is in good overall condition. There is some loss to the leather at the bottom of the spine and the rear cover is heavily cracked at the hinge but is still attached. The photographs are mostly in very good condition. The armed soldier cdv has a center crease and some pinholes. Shipping - Packed securely, free USPS Priority Mail with tracking inside the US. All of my items are packed securely and shipped as fast as possible. I'm happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases. Ask any questions. Bks1
