A fictionalized story of the life and death of Billy the Kid. Basis of the 1961 film One-Eyed Jacks, directed by and starring Marlon Brando, along with Karl Malden, Ben Johnson and Slim Pickens. First printing copy of the softcover reissue of this novel with the full number row on copyright page beginning with “1”. This copy includes a new preface by the author which recounts his experiences during the filming of One-Eyed Jacks and a commentary by Stephen Tatum. A very good copy with browning to the rear inside cover due to the placement of a New York Times newspaper obituary for Charles Neider laid into the book at that place. The book appears to be lightly read, tight, bright copy no underlining, no tears or rips and no bookplates, smoke free. This book measures 5.5 by 8 inches, 211 pages.
