Description: The library edition of Charles Dickens’ “Dombey and Son,” Volume 1 and 2 in one book, published by Wm. L. Allison, was released c1880s; the date is not printed in the book and cannot find a consensus with an online search. The inscription from the parents to their daughter Beryl Ingraham Peck is also not clear, but may say 1887 (she lived from 1875 - 1962). The book measures approx 5.5 in x 7.75 in. Volume 1 has 456 numbered pages, and Volume 2 has 464 pages. The pages are substantially tanned and brittle. There are no loose or missing pages. Allison published the Arundale [that is, Arundel] Edition of cheap twelvemos, a cheap edition of Chamber's Encyclopedia, the works of Shakespeare, and many other books in low-priced editions.
