Share the magic! ****** This trick came out of Switzerland, in the 1980's -- that was when I first saw it. Not sure which magic maker in Switzerland made it, but at some point in the 1990's, Mak Magic obtained the rights and had it as part of their line. THE EFFECT: Magi repeated counts four facedown Aces from hand to hand, and one by one, the Aces turn faceup. When all four Aces are faceup, the magi again counts them and this time, on each count, an Ace turns facedown, but is flipped faceup to reveal it has also changed into a King. When all four Aces have changed to Kings, the cards are turned facedown, revealing that the blue backs have turned to four different colors of the rainbow. The routine that is taught has the magician counting the cards to change each back color individually, but I think the quick "all-at-once" rainbow reveal is better, and it is no harder to do -- in fact easier. The cards included are made of very thin plastic -- they flex and handle perfectly for the necessary false count. They also have interesting jumbo Ace pips (see photo). I have not seen this trick for about 20 years, but just came across a few among some ex-dealer inventory. It is an "old-school" packet effect, which does not use the more common packet sleights, and is more reminiscent of handlings for earlier packet tricks like Cervon's Dirty Deal. However, the colorful and showy cards may lend themselves to new handlings if you like to create your own. (And if you perform the trick exactly as taught in the instructions, the ultra-thin cards make the necessary sleight very deceptive) New-old dealer inventory, so (even though the trick about 30 years old) it is brand new and unused, with printed instructions -- BUT, IMPORTANT NOTE: one pocket in the vinyl wallet is dimpled and uneven. This is probably result of decades of storage. But cards are MINT and perfect. ALSO, the instruction sheet has some ink transfer from page to page, which was common with photocopy printing in the early 1990s.
