It is from an old vintage and antique mineral collection. This was purchased from a person who was selling off his dad’s mineral collection and a lot of the minerals he had were from Montana, Colorado and very few international locations. There were some items that were labeled incredibly well and others that had no labels at all. There was also a whole bunch of crystals and vintage mineral specimens from the Colorado School of Mines which is a geology university or college in (I think) Golden, Colorado. These labels were old, yellowed and antique and many were from the actual museum at the university there. So it was a little puzzling to just see an old pickle jar filled with these Chalcanthite crystals. Most were terrible quality and then there were a few, and only a very few the quality of this one. The pickle jar was very old and rusty and antique but other than that, there was really no more info on these particular specimens. I has researched these and see that these are often lab created. I don’t think that is the case with these but can’t be absolutely sure. But 90% of the chalcanthite crystals that I purchased from them at the time were terrible and very poor quality, which is not typical of the lab grown crystals. I think these are natural and that these are the best of the best of the natural ones in this collection. I will be listing some of the other ones that are more matrix than mineral. But this one is one the the very best ones in the whole collection. There were several amazing gems in this collection including pieces of platinum, gold in vein, gold with quartz, silver crystals and all other crazy cool metal base mineral specimens. Like this one - this is a copper based mineral. It seemed like the theme of this mineral collection was metal based mineral - like there was stibnite specimens and also cassiterite, which is an amazingly unique metal based mineral specimen which is the crystallized form or Tin Oxide.
