Description: Monumental 1940-s ceramic statue of White Tailed Eagle on the watch spreading its wings is made with realism and attention to detail and hand painted in vivid colours. Imperial eagle was a symbol of German empire since 1848 and specifically during the 1930s-1940s period, and this is one of the best representations of it. Modelled at the famous Hertwig Katzhütte factory, Thuringia, Germany, founded in 1864. Marked on the bottom with green Hertwig mark that was in use in 1941-1958 and number 14, also with incised numbers 4969 (model number) and 10. The figurine is in an excellent original condition.
