Description: CEPHEUS: Living Comfort without Heating - Passivhaus by Helmut Krapmeier Publisher: Springer Publication Date: 2001 Pages: 160 ISBN-10: 3211837205 Thanks to minimal energy consumption, passive houses do not require conventional heating or air conditioning. Residential and commercial buildings are being built more and more frequently, proving that the passive house standard offers a much higher level of comfort without having to make compromises in terms of architecture. The nine buildings in Austria documented in the book are examples of this, and it is also possible not to exceed a cost limit required for social housing. To qualify as a passive house, the space heating requirement should not exceed 15 kWh/m²a and the total energy consumption for space heating, hot water, ventilation and electricity should not exceed 42 kWh/m²a. On average, this consumption is currently around 170 kWh/m²a, i.e. around four times as much. CEPHEUS is a Europe-wide cooperation of experts in which buildings to the passive house standard were planned, erected, measured and documented. This was the first Passivhaus / Passive House book available in English. Condition: Very good condition.
