Description: An old lithographed carte de visite, also called a ferrograph because it was printed from an engraved steel plate; possibly by John Dainty of Philadelphia, (blank back) circa 1860s. A portrait of George W. M. Nutt aka Commodore Nutt, Charles S. Stratton aka Tom Thumb, Lavinia Warren-Bump, and Minnie Warren-Bump; these little people were great celebrities in their day! The original wedding portraits were taken at Mathew Brady's studio down the street from Barnum's American Museum on 9 February 1863. These cartes were wildly popular and were copied and reproduced by numerous vendors. Trimmed along edges, see scan 26380 947-89 Shipped in a sturdy stay-flat mailer.
