Description: Catalogo dos Manuscritos de Macau by Luiz Gonzaga Gomes, Centro de Estudos Historicos Ultramarinos, Separata do No. 32 do Boletim da Filmoteca Ultramarina Portuguesa, Lisboa (1966). Softcover (6.5x9.5”) 101 pgs Text in PORTUGUESE Offered is No. 32 of the series of reprints. This volume contains pages 129-221 of the full series (101 actual pages), covering the period 1915-1916. Background from internet research: Luís Gonzaga Gomes was born in Macao in 1907. He became expert in written and verbal Chinese and, of course, also his native family Portuguese. In 1955, he was asked by Governor Admiral Joaquim Marques Esparteiro to make an inventory of all the existing documents in the Archives of Macao, and the work commenced. In 1961, a subsequent Governor ordered him to stop. The material compiled by Luís Gomes during those years was published in several volumes in the "Boletim da Filmoteca Ultramarina Portuguesa". Pages clean and unmarked. Covers show some age toning, especially around the edges, and there's a partial separation of the glue holding the spine to the text body (see second picture). Both top and bottom outside corners show bumps, and the resulting corner wrinkles carry through all the pages of this copy. Don't notice when reading, but there they are. Please see the pictures for more information about this book and the condition of this copy. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
