There is tape residue on the boxes and some of the corners of the boxes are torn. Sold as is. About these puzzles - Thankfully the missing pieces do not impede the fun you can have with these puzzles. These puzzles were surprisingly harder than I was expecting but easy to manage. The difficulty was because the puzzle pieces were such odd shapes. The 'Miss Kitty at Home' puzzle was easier because it had so much more going on in the image itself you could better sort the pieces and at the end it was cool to see the final image. The 'Cat Wedding' puzzle was more difficult because it had big sections of one color and with the odd piece shapes it was a fun challenge to complete.
