Handle with gloves if you are wary. These seeds were given the "sink or float" test. All seeds in this listing did in fact sink at time of test and therefore are classified as "viable". Does that mean every single seed will germinate? No. We can not guarantee that every seed will germinate. We can only tell you whether or not they have passed the "sink or float test". In regard to seed storage from time of harvest, which is July through August, 100% germination has been recorded after 4 months of cold storage. Viability is reduced to 50% after 10 months and none survives after 13-14 months. Our seeds are kept in refrigeration until the next harvest season in July. The seeds that do not sell are then planted for germination. We have experienced a 70% germination rate after sowing seeds in April. Caution: Buying seeds from overseas will not guarantee you will receive those seeds as Customs may confiscate them due to them being classified as "live cargo".
