J. Low. 42-Can. Inf. James Low was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on 25 June 1883 and having emigrated to Canada attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in Montreal on 26 March 1916, Occupayion "Driller", a married man with (5) Children. He served with the 42nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry during the Great War on the Western Front from 21 March 1917. He was wounded to his head and right knee by SW on 21st July 1917 but after hospitalization returned to his unit. He was subsequently killed in action in the trenches east of Lens on 31 March 1918, and is buried in La Chaudiere Military Cemetery, Vimy, France. His file is digitized and available for free at Library & Archives Canada EF condition, lacquered and court mounted on a brooch-pin. All items are unconditionally guaranteed as to authenticity.
