Description: A great writing slope. Belived to be from around 1850. It is a military campaign type slope with fold in brass handles as well as brass edging for protection whilst being transported. The lid contains a file for documents and sections for days of the week. Under the top half of the writing slope there is a secret compartment that is revealed when the divider is pulled (shown in photo). The compartment cover pings off delightfully to reveal two drawers that slide like new. The lower half of the slope is held in with a brass catch. This lifts to reveal storage and a note holding band system. Please note; there is no key. The leather on the slope is damaged and worn. The Green baize needs replacing. Please see photos for details. When closed it measures 40cm x 25cm x 15cm.
