Description: Wow! You are bidding on a double page spread from a rare children’s book from the 1940s. It depicts a wonderful, whimsical scene of a California river crowded with miners during the gold rush of 1849. Tens are everywhere. The forty-niners can be seen panning, sifting, lugging and even fighting (lower left). This color print is on thick pebbled papers with wonderful color. The color is actually richer and deeper than my scan shows. It has text on the back, but the text is not visible through paper. The spread was carefully removed from a book with a broken binding. It is not torn, but it does have small holes in the fold line where it was stitched. The two-page spread measures approx. 20x11 inches, and the actual image area is about 18x9 inches. This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE antique item. All prints are delivered in an archival sleeve and packed flat with heavy cardboard or rolled in a sturdy tube. I stand behind my products and offer a FULL REFUND if you think the product does not match the description in any way. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases (charging only the single highest shipping cost). Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
