(One) 36" shielded cable assembly with perfect-fit latching plug at one end to mate with Motorola radios having a 16-pin rear accessory connector, i.e.: M10, M100 & M200 series, M1225, Radius, Maxtrac, GM300, etc. All my kits feature connector shells and contact pins manufactured by AMP, the same supplier used by Motorola. The AMP parts in my kits are identical in quality and precision to the AMP parts found in "Motorola brand" kits. The pre-attached contact pins in my kits are professionally installed to AMP specifications using automated AMP tooling, for a perfect fit and flawless mechanical and electrical connection. This cable assembly features a high quality, flexible, 4-conductor cable with individually color-coded, stranded 24 awg conductors and an overall foil shield with bare drain wire (5-conductors total). Five (5) pins of the radio connector are brought out to flying leads. This cable is wired as follows: Pin # 2 MIC WHI (use this input for speech audio - see Notes below) 3 PTT BLK 11 Receive Audio GRN 8 Programmable Output (COR) RED 7 Ground Bare (drain wire)15 -16 Jumpered to enable internal speaker Notes: This cable (63) is perfect for hooking up 16-pin radios to many external accessories, such as single-user repeater controllers, tone remote adaptors, and other voice applications that do not involve the transmission of signaling or data, and when the transmit PL tone (if any) will be generated by the radio itself (not by an external source). For the transmission of data or signaling tones only (such as APRS, CW beacons, SCADA, telemetry and other non-voice applications), it is recommended that Pin 5 (Flat TX Audio Input) be used instead of Pin 2 (Mic Input). The frequency response of the radio's Flat TX Audio Input is better suited to the transmission of data & signaling (including externally generated xmit PL tones). Cable # 73 would work better than this cable (63) for those applications. Cable 73 injects transmit audio via radio Pin 5 instead of Pin 2. For the transmission of speech audio (via the mic input) AND externally generated PL (via the Flat TX audio input) at the same time, please see Cable #103 (3 ft) or Cable #106 (6 ft). Cable #103 and 106 make connections to radio Pins 2 and 5 (both). If you are not sure which of the radio's transmit audio inputs will work best in your particular application, choose Cable #103 (3 ft) or 106 (6 ft) You can try both inputs to determine which performs optimally.
