Description: Circa 1900 Iroquis beadwork “Whimsey” finished in an arrowhead shape, likely made as a tourist souvenir. Clear and colored seed beads (a slightly greyish cloudy clear glass, about size 10/0) plus larger chunky bugle beads are worked over paper shapes on velvet fabric. 4 inches high by 3-3/4 inches wide with 3 areas of double strand hanging loops along the bottom and a twisted hanging loop of beads which adds about 2-1/4″ to the overall height. Condition is very good; the beadwork is in excellent condition with no missing beads. The velvet fabric has faded slightly but shows very little wear. The yellow fabric on the back has water stains and light soiling but is in otherwise good shape.
