Description: Maker: This beautiful blue and white cup and saucer is by England’s iconic ceramics maker Ridgways. Design and age: The classic blue flow set is in the pattern called Chiswick. An English pattern registration number that appears to be 295284 is on the saucer. It dates the pattern to 1897, meaning this set is around 125 years old. Size: The saucer is 6 1/8 inches wide. The cup is 4 1/8 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. The set weighs 8.9 ounces. Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition for their age and material with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or significant wear. There is crazing throughout as usual in ironstone of this era - an example is shown in the photo with the red arrow. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
