Description: This is a circa 1870 old Paris porcelain apothecary jar in blue with a gilded rim shield at the center of which is the name of the “traditional medicine” that the jar carried – Acido Borico Polvo. Likely, originally from Mexico. Measurements: approx 9-3/8” high x 4-5/8” wide across the lid the farthest points of the lid. Markings: the jar is unsigned. The only mark appears inside the lid and it is the number 29. Condition: rubbing to the gilding, the lid was broken and re-glued. The repair is messy and obvious but can be hidden by placing the break to the back of the jar. H817
