Description: Great mid-19th century, carved leather cased pocket compass. The carved dial is mounted by a brass encased compass fitted in a velvet lined leather case. Dial there’s a small crack and the compass is missing a thermometer. Otherwise very good condition. Likely used by a soldier or a sailor around the time of the Civil War.
