Description: c 1950 W T Copeland & Sons (Spode) ironstone milk jug and sugar bowl, chinoiserie pattern "Chinese Rose" #2/9253 from Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Hand painted floral design in multiple colours on a cream background, with a delicate starburst and swaggers motif and a solid green border. Produced in the long running Copeland works in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and based on an original design from 1815. While both pieces are in excellent original vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, the jug does have surface crazing. The colours remain bright, clean and vibrant, there are no other signs of use. Dimensions:The milk jug stands 10 cm tall and 12 cm from the outer edge of the spout to the outer edge of the handle. The sugar bowl stands 5.5 cm tall and 10.5 cm diameter. The under side of both pieces bear the modern Spode England back stamp; and pattern name and number. I have listed 6 trios and teapot separately in this pattern. Ref 997
