Description: c 1889 Royal Crown Derby round plate, imari "Kings" pattern #383. Dimensions 23.5 cm diameter. Gloriously presented in the hand painted Imari colourways of cobalt blue and brown with lavish gilded highlights. A most unusual addition is the leaf painting in cobalt blue on the reverse. The base bears the pre Royal Crown Derby back stamp and painters marks. In excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, but some very fine utensil scratches to the surface of the central pattern on the front. Very handsome, displays beautifully and typical of this fabulous producer which alas is no longer in production. Ref #441 .
