Description: Offered here, fresh from an estate is this wonderful set of C. 1885 fruit/orange spoons by the famous Gorham Company. These are sterling silver and well marked on the back as such with the old Gorham mark. The bowls are gold washed, which was an extra charge to have done. Gold washing was done to protect the sterling silver from the acids from various foods and was a special order. They called them fruit spoons but they can be used for many other items as well, ice cream, desserts, etc.The pattern here is MARYLAND. Each spoon measures approx. 5 7/8" in length. There is NO monogram on these spoons! They are in very good antique condition with no dings or dents, could probably benefit from a better polish than I have done, but I will leave that to you. Note, I do lightly polish silver to check condition and also because I do not believe in sending things out dirty like many other sellers do.Check my other offerings in sterling and fine collectibles and antiques. I will, whenever possible, combine your purchases to save you money on shipping. Items to be combined must be purchased within the same week and paid for at one time.Thank You!
