C. 1885 Aesthetic Brown & White Transferware Warming Plate 9.5" Diameter Antique

Description: This piece was used for keeping dinner hot. It has a metal base which would be filled with hot water. The plate is in the Brown & White Aesthetic style, very popular in the 1880's. It is probably English, but, since the plate cannot be separated from the metal bottom, manufacturer and country of manufacture cannot be currently determined. If you happen to know pattern name, please message me so I can update listing. I was not successful in finding example online to help in my identification. Dimensions: 9.5" Plate Diameter. Handles add total of 2.25” to width; spout extends 1". 1.5" Height. Condition: Good giftable condition. Porcelain is intact without chips, flakes, breaks, mends, hairlines, or mentionable boo-boo's. Crazing over most of plate. Cap on water fill spout will not open for me - appears to have been soldered on. Handles show solders on underside -- do not know if these are original manufacturing or subsequent repairs. Metal underplate free of dents, bashes, or damage. Slight surface rust on rim opposite water fill spout, as well as a few spots on base. Unpacked weight: 1 pound, 10 oz. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
