Description: c 1866 Sampson Hancock and Sons plate Imari "Kings" pattern #383. This glorious hand painted plate remains as vibrant and pristine as the day it was crafted in the Imari palette of rust and cobalt blue with gold highlights at the Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire works. There are unusual hand painted floral motifs on the reverse. In perfect original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify. There are a few small kiln marks on the reverse, minor utensil marks on the front lozenge, the gilding is in excellent condition. The reverse bears the Samson Hancock Derby hand written crown and swords trade mark. Ref: 416
