Description: Here we have scarce, very-vintage, nearly antique, dinner plates from Wedgwood (Etruria, England) being offered by the each piece. The red, black and ivory Sunbirds pattern was designed by Sir Charles Holmes (1868-1936) the illustrious museum director, artist, and founder of Studio magazine. We have more pieces in this pattern available in our store, as shown in the last photo, including two covered bowls, a mustard pot with underplate, a dinnerware set, platters, soup bowls, and additional salad/dessert plates, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Shipping: $12.50 for the first one; $4.50 for each additional (Street addresses to the Continental US only -- po boxes and Alaska/Hawaii, message us with your zip code for your rates) These plates, of which we had 8 when this listing started, are being sold by the each plate. The price shown is for one plate, and you may purchase as many as are currently available -- see the drop down menu at the very top, from which you will need to choose the number desired. If, for instance, the drop down menu shows a maximum number of 4, that means that 4 have already sold, and only 4 remain, so you may purchase between one and four plates. Maker/Marks: Wedgwood/please see photos Vintage: 1931 Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. We often add graphics such as arrows, circles, and text boxes to our photos to point out things of interest that might be hard to see, such as a price tag or maker's mark, as well as to highlight many condition flaws. Bright, shiny and stunning, with fantastic coloration. No chips, cracks, or silver/gray utensil marks. All have overall crazing that varies between barely perceptible to the naked eye to light, and some of the crazing has a very light tannish tinge to it. All have one or two tiny glaze pops on the edge of the rim, not noticeable when being used or displayed, but can be felt. One has a teeny-tiny fleabite under the rim. All have a few scattered, completely colorless, light scratches to the glaze, the kind that are visible only when the piece is held up at just the right angle to a direct, bright source of light. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
