Description: For sale is a wonderful unusual swirl face pitcher made by the master potter Burlon (B.B.) Craig (1914-2002) Mr. Craig was the most well known of the Catawba Valley folk potters with works in the Smithsonian and other museums. The pitcher is a great example of his swirl pottery and his face jugs. It has three different colors of glazed clay, brown ,cream and blue with a wavy line decorating the top part from top of ears around. It is 6” tall and holds 24oz. The pitcher is stamped B.B.Craig Vale, N.C on the bottom. There are a few small chips on the bottom from the kiln firing. I purchased it from the potter at one of his kiln openings. This guy is a real treasure.
