The clarinets were stamped (on lower joint) “Made in West Germany” at the time, although these barrels have no markings on them. Style of rings are different from the modern wood Buffet/Evette. Stored in a controlled climate for about 40 years, these wood barrels are in good condition with tight rings and no visible cracks on the exteriors. However, being wood there is sure to be some varying of fit – socket dimensions were probably accurate at time of manufacture but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these dimensions on every barrel. Top Socket: Diameter: 22.0mm Depth: 17.5mm Bottom Socket: Diameter: 23.6mm Depth: 18.7mm Some rings have tarnished a bit and there are nicks, scratches or blemishes from long term storage. Some of these may need cleaning due to prolonged storage or from possibly having been tested/played on briefly.
