Description: Shipping and Insurance sent via USPS Priority Mail, or UPS or FedEx, whichever is cheaper and faster. Own a piece of truly "American Glass History". The price is for one VINTAGE BRYCE WALKER 11 1/4 INCH "BUCKLE WITH STAR" PEDESTAL COMPOTE FROM 1880 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Bryce Walker Glass Company started making this "Buckle With Star" pattern in 1880 and then continued making it after merging with the U.S. Glass Co. Consortium in 1891, making it up to 144 years old, which is really amazing for it even to exist today. It was a very extensive patterned glass with many serving pieces. This elegant Early American Pressed Glass "Buckle With Star" Pattern features 6 large elaborate 3 inch by 4 inch oval starred medallions alternating with 6 crescent star beams in between, making it a wonderful "imitation" of the expensive cut glass footed compotes, as can be seen in all of the photographs. The Footed Compote Stand measures 11 1/4 Inches across the top, and 7 1/4 inches high, and stands on a 5 1/2 Inch round base, as can be seen in the photographs, and weighs about 3 1/2 pounds. The Footed Compote Stand is crystal clear with no magnesium or UV tinting although there are some small scratches on it. There is, however some mold roughness to the top of the stemmed pedestal, as can be seen in the last two photographs. This is not a break or crack, but rather displays the difficulty in extracting the glass from its mold at the thin part of the pedestal, as can be seen in the last two photographs. What's really amazing is how this compote is in such great condition for its age, except for that mold roughness already described to the pedestal, there are also scratches to its bottom, where they would expected to be found from glassware this old, commensurate with its age, as can be seen in the photographs. This bowl is truly beautiful and elegant, and was purchased from a very old estate sale on Long Island. I found it sitting in the middle of a very long dining room table, where it seemed to have sat there for many years with most of the scratches on its bottom. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the items as best as I can. Although it was pre-owned and except for the one mold roughness already described above on the pedestal, I don't see any chips, fleabites, cracks, stains, cloudiness, or repairs anywhere. It comes from a smoke-free home. I only accept PayPal, and never charge extra for packaging and handling. Shipping and Insurance sent via USPS Priority Mail, or UPS or FedEx, whichever is cheaper and faster costs $16.85. Payment is expected within 3 days, after which I will immediately ship out the Footed Pedestal Compote Stand as soon as payment is verified by eBay. Buyer may be subject to sales tax which is collected by eBay, and not given to me at all. If payment is not received within 5 days, the Footed Pedestal Compote Stand will be relisted. Returns will be arranged only if I have shipped the wrong item, or if I have misrepresented the item or its condition. If you need more pictures or further details, please feel free to contact me.
