Description: Brugmansia insignis is a shrub or small tree in the Solanaceae family. Native to South America. It can grow to 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide. This species of angel's trumpet has fragrant flowers. Once this spectacular tree is full-grown and in bloom, it can produce over 100 fragrant flowers all at the same time. The flowers are in full bloom from late spring until mid-fall. They are around a foot long and 6-10 inches wide. It prefers to grow in full sun but can handle some shade. Well-drained soil is needed as you will need to water daily as Brugmansia's are heavy feeders. You may also lightly fertilize once a month. Zones 7-11 Germination Soak seeds in water for 24-48 hours. Sow seeds 1/2" deep and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-70F. Germination is in 21-30 days.
