I Blade Length:8.00" Serial #: N/A TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a Lee-Enfield No. 4 bolt action rifle No. 9 Mk. I bayonet. Scabbard is NOT included. This is NON-FUNCTIONAL. It has a layer of wax in the mortise and throughout the bayonet. It can probably be removed but we didn't want to damage it in any way, so we left it in the condition we received it. The British wanted to get rid of their spike bayonet after WWII. They went through a few variations. In 1947 they started producing these bayonets. Other versions of this bayonet were produced in Pakistan and South Africa. Approximately 366,902 bayonets were made between 1949-1956 and another 10,000 in 1962. Overall, this bayonet is in Fair - Good condition, due to the layer of wax. The press catch is NON-functional due to the wax. The socket, elbow and blade are all securely attached. It is hard to evaluate the metal because we can not see it clearly. It appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. There are no visible markings. This bayonet will be a great addition to your Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle (once the wax is removed), or a bayonet collection in general.
