Description: 199? Steelman Stage Race, updated by Meadow Cycles to the current spec. Meadow modifies and updates vintage steel frames from the OG custom builders in the US (other framesets currently available as yet unmodified: Bontrager Roadlite 57, Stowe fillet brazed 58, Kirk Precision touring (ok not US but British, and cast magnesium, but such a striking frame)), more to come... Meadow identifies and updates needed modifications (i.e. replace down-tube shifter braze-ons with modern head-tube mounted, ensure frame alignment, etc), or damage to finish/corosion. We then install current components, update to threadless forks and paint as required, always leaving original elements as a nod to the history. This particular Steelman has a very interesting paint, almost looks like polished aluminum, but over the years developed a lot of hazing on the seat-stays and some wear on the top tube. As shown, those areas have been refinished in white. The bike is a fantastic ride, very efficient and snappy. Anyone who is familiar with Steelman know he was a master builder and this frameset is represents the pinnacle of custom steel framebuilding from the era. Aesthetically, the fast-back seat-stays are a nice unique touch and really make the bike stand-out. As shown, I put about 500 miles on it. Selling since the intention was always to restomod it and then sell. The fact that I put 500 miles or so on it is a testament to how fun it is to ride, so now you can get a 1 of 1 frame and a nearly new groupset, headset, stem, bars, saddle, seatpost, etc. at a steal.
