This kit will replace the open frame motor in most HO scale Suydam traction models. With this kit installed, your model will have smoother starts, better slow speed operation, and A LOWER TOP SPEED. I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU MEASURE THE MOTOR IN YOUR MODEL AND COMPARE IT TO THE DIMENSIONS LISTED The motor is a dual shaft design, it has very high torque, and a 6-pole armature. This motor will start turning smoothly with 0.5 volts DC applied. At 12 volts DC with no load, the motor draws 170ma and develops 8100 rpm. The stall current at 12 volts is 2 amps. This motor is DCC compatible with a 2-amp decoder. The motor measures 30mm long x 18mm wide x 18mm high. The front motor shaft is 8mm long and it is 2mm in diameter. The rear motor shaft is 6mm long and it is 2mm in diameter. The flywheel is 13mm long and it is 13mm in diameter and bored for a 2mm diameter shaft The photo shows what the motor kit would look like installed on a Suydam Milwaukee Road GE boxcab. NOTE!
