Description: Hanging duck decoy hand-carved by Chincoteague, VA decoy carver Bob Booth (1936 - 2016). Mr. Booth, a waterman, hunting guide and decoy carver for 40+ years, was a member of the Chincoteague Island Decoy Carvers Association and had a booth at the Refuge Waterfowl Museum for many years. I think it is a golden plover but am not sure. It measures approximately 12" x 4" and hangs from a black cord. I cannot find a signature but it retains the original sticker Mr. Booth used on his decoys (see last photo from my other listing for comparison). The decoy also features a colonial-era hand-forged square nail as the bill (salvaged from a Chincoteague building ruin) frequently used by Mr. Booth on his decoys. Purchased at the Refuge Waterfowl Museum in Chincoteague which sadly closed in 2013 after the death of the owner. It is in excellent, original condition. Please check my other listings for another Bob Booth shorebird decoy. Please view photos carefully as they are the most important part of the description. Payment is due immediately upon purchase. Shipping will be via USPS Ground Advantage and includes insurance, tracking and delivery confirmation. Items are usually shipped within 24 hours of purchase. Many of the items listed were acquired at auctions or estate/yard sales, so I cannot guarantee that they are from smoke or pet free environments.
