Description: U & azebuy Shop of toys and models from Ukraine DESCRIPTION BM-8-24 Self-Propelled Missile Installation Plastic Model Kit MA352341:35 ScaleManufacturer: MiniArtMaterial: PlasticCondition: New in original packagingHistorical referenceIt was designed in the design bureau of the Moscow plant № 733 "Compressor" with the participation of NII-3 and the design bureau of the plant № 37 in August-October 1941. VA Timofeev, DI Sazonov, the leading chassis designer, supervised the development. BM-8-24 combat vehicles were mass-produced at the Compressor and Krasnaya Presnya plants on the chassis of T-40 and T-60 light tanks after dismantling the turret and installing the launcher - M-8 - a package of guides with launchers for 24 82-mm unguided missiles (called in the 1930s - 1940s rockets) M-8. The installation received the factory index KS-77. The launch part of the M-8 of 12 guides of the beam type, on which the top and bottom were loaded with 24 82-mm M-8 rockets. The fire control unit allowed firing in one volley or at different rates of projectile launch. Plant 33 733 ("Compressor") produced these combat vehicles, in total plant № 37 delivered 21 T-30 chassis for installation of MLRS (September - 7 (4 numbers - 4, 19 - 3), October - 14). In September, three prototypes were built at the Compressor plant: - On September 14, 1941, the first prototype M-13 on the T-30 chassis went for comparative tests with installations on both a wheeled machine and a STZ-5. The M-13 mounted on the T-30 and STZ-5 chassis proved to be the favorites in the tests. If the M-13 installation on the STZ-5 chassis, which had the factory index KS-75, was adopted by the Red Army by the decision of the GKO № 726ss of September 30, 1941, the machine on the T-30 chassis turned out to be worse in some parameters. - On September 27, 1941, tests of two M-8 units on the T-30 chassis began at the Sofrin artillery range. This product received the factory index KS-77. Two variants of the machine, which differed in the design of the guides, were tested: in the first they were box-shaped, and in the second machine the guides were in the shape of an I-beam, as on the M-13. According to the test results, the choice was made in favor of an installation with I-beams. In October, three converted prototypes of the installation were handed over and 9 more cars were assembled. After the evacuation of plant № 37 from Moscow to Sverdlovsk, and parts of the plant "Compressor" to Uralsk, the production of M-8 on the chassis of the T-30 stopped and continued on the basis of its successor T-60. The remaining "9 T-30 chassis without towers", which arrived from Moscow on GAZ, in November 1941 were converted into linear T-30s. Production of the T-60 chassis for the installation of M-8 units began at GAZ in October 1941, when 20 vehicles were delivered, in November - 35 and in December - 82. Of these, the Milling Machine Plant (№ 113) in Gorky by the end of the year handed over 111 installations (10 in November and 101 in December). In 1942, another 101 chassis were assembled at GAZ (January - 35, February - 32, March - 20, April - 14), of which in January the plant № 113 handed over 54 finished cars, in February - 39. In March, production began, as not a single chassis arrived from GAZ, and the rest arrived at the plant only during April-May. In addition, in June 1942, 10 chassis were produced at the № 38 plant in Kirov. By the end of June, 26 plants had been assembled at the № 113 plant, and in July, together with 10 Kirov machines, the last 18. A total of 12 M-8s on the T-40 chassis and 248 on the T-60 chassis were assembled. A total of 260 production cars. Shooting range - 5.5 km, volley time M-8 24 shells 8-10 seconds; loading time of 24 shells 10-15 minutes. The launch was performed with an electric coil with a handle connected to the battery and contacts on the guides - when turning the handle in turn closed the contacts and in each of the shells had to trigger a firing cartridge. Simultaneously, two coils were rarely used on the installations. The released cars took part in the battles of 1941-1943 and were well received in the troops because of the better security and passability in comparison with the Katyushas based on trucks. In addition to the installation on the chassis of light tanks, the artillery part of the M-8 was placed on trucks, on special carts for horse-drawn carriages, on armored boats; it was also mounted on the armored platforms of seven special armored trains (example: Kozma Minin, Ilya Muromets, and so on). After the military action in Korea, the development of 82-mm launchers and M-8 rockets was stopped.Payment Policy We accept only PayPal Shipping Policy We ship WORLDWIDE.We will ship your purchase to your eBay address using AIRMAIL with TRACKING NUMBER.
