Description: This 2LP 1974 remastered mono collection from Milestone Records (M-47019), one of the titles in their "Twofer" series, is partially reprocessed from the original mono recordings, but also includes alternate versions of each track never issued on 78s. The common thread is Bix Beiderbecke and The Wolverines, but it also includes his performances with the Sioux City Six (with Miff Mole and Frank Trumbauer), the Rhythm Jugglers (with Tommy Dorsey), Jimmy McPartland and The Wolverines, and Muggsy Spanier and The Bucktown Five. The foldout album contains extensive notes (in English) by Max Harrison, discussing both the musical works (some of which include multiple takes from the original recording sessions) and the restoration of the vintage recordings themselves. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
