Description: This is a vintage antique sample of wire fencing. This sample features a Frank Bissell patent, dated March 31, 1885. This is a Vertical stay called "Bissell's Threaded Cane" by collectors. This stay features a heavy vertical rod that runs straight. Stay is wrapped with a lighter gauge wire in a succession of half hitches. Stay sample is 18" in length. Wire sample shows light to moderate pitting. There are no bend, breaks, or repairs. We have listed other antique barbed wire samples, and will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice.
