It won't come off until you remove it, and will easily swivel when making turns or driving down steep driveways! The Bighorn Trash Hitch™ fits 1 7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2 5/16 inch hitch balls so there is no need to switch out your hitch or change the ball, and is light enough for any person to handle! It also has no moveable parts to wear out, and should provide years of reliable use. Simply slip small "horns" under the hitch ball facing downward (fig 3), lift up, turn and flip Bighorn so "horns" face upward to secure (fig 3-4).
