Description: Beverly Roberts SIGNED 1996 Letter in very good condition....(see photos) She was a leading lady of feature films and theatre during the 1930's and 1940's. Among the leading men she shared the silver screen with include Humphrey Bogart, Pat O'Brien and Walter Abel. Born in Brooklyn, she made her Broadway debut at the age of eighteen in the 1932 production "The Passionate Pilgrim." This would lead to a contract with Warner Brothers and her embarking upon a career in Hollywood. In 1936, she made her big screen debut in the picture "The Singing Kid" with Al Jolson. Further roles followed in the films "Two Against the World" (1936), "Her Husband's Secretary" (1937) and "I Was a Convict" (1939). During the 1940s, she returned to the theatre and toured as a vocalist with the Dorsey Brothers. After a few sporadic appearances on television in such programs as "Robert Montgomery Presents" and "Kraft Television Theatre," she retired as a performer and would serve as an executive officer with the Theatre Authority of New York.
