The pages have heavy foxing, and the front and back endpapers feature a decorative city scene. There is some page chipping starting at 237 to the second to the last end page. The second front-end paper has a price sticker from Montgomery Ward in the top right corner. The dust jacket exhibits staining, soiling, foxing, creasing, fading, chipping, tearing, and paper loss, particularly at the top of the spine.
