Description: BETTY PAGES MAGAZINE ISSUE 2 (SECOND PRINTING) BETTIE 1988 WALLY WOOD Thanks for looking at this listing for a copy of the second printing of the second issue of The Betty Pages. This digest sized (slightly over 5 x 7 inches) 56-page magazine was first published by Pure Imagination in 1988, and focused on the Queen of 1940’s and 1950’s pin-up magazines, Bettie Page. She experienced a revitalization in popularity due in large part to the work of comic book writer and artist Dave Stevens, who made her a main character in his series The Rocketeer in the early 1980’s. That was eventually made into a Disney film directed by Joe Johnston, which featured Jennifer Connelly portraying the Betty Page character (they changed her name for the movie…it was Disney, after all…). There is also a short feature on legendary comic book artist Wally Wood in this issue. The magazine is in terrific condition, with only minor shelf wear.
