Description: Offered is the vintage book "Betty Gordon in the Land of Oil", written by Alice B. Emerson and published in New York by Cupples & Leon. This third book in the series of 15 featuring the teenage heroine finds Betty in Oklahoma oil and cowboy country. It has a copyright date of 1920, although the book contains an ad for others in the series, with the last book listed as #10, which was published in 1927. "Alice B. Emerson" is actually a pseudonym; this book, as well as several others in the series was actually written by Josephine Lawrence, with the remainder written by several other writers. There is one illustration, the frontispiece. The book is approx. 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" and contains 210 pages. It is in good to very good condition. The tan picture hard cover has only light wear, the colors bright, although there is some light soiling. The words and symbols on the spine are still vivid. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The white endpapers have browned but are mostly clean. There is a gift inscription from Christmas, 1932 on the first blank page. I see no missing or torn pages and all of the pages are well-attached to the binding. The pages have yellowed but are generally clean and clear, with occasional spots, etc. I see no writing in the book except for the gift inscription. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at the other items in my eBay store!
