Description: Offering this early, rare Bronze baby sculpture letter opener by Bessie Potter Vonnoh. Bessie Potter Vonnoh is a very will listed artist with numerous auction records. Her work is collected world wide and is in many museums as well as private and corporate collections. A Google search will provide all the information you will need about her life and career. This Bronze letter opener features a wonderful sculpture of a baby in repose. It has one small ding near the pointed tip (picture 6) and otherwise it is in excellent condition. It is 1 5/8 inches high at the baby's head, is 7 3/4 inches long and about one inch wide. It is a solid cast bronze sculpture, not hollow, and so has some weight to it. It is marked with her early B.P. mark as shown. This is a very beautiful and rare piece by a very noted sculptor. Thanks for looking.
