Description: See Youtube Video: https://youtu.be/4kLP7iTHMHs Benitoite Crystal "Stoney", rare giant size over 1”, from the Dallas Gem Mine, now called the California State Gem Mine. The crystal itself, without the crossite spheres, Measures 25.18mm x 8.02mm. Weighs 10.42 grams or 52.10 carats. Photos taken outdoors in full sun. Please compare to other available individual large crystals. Purchased in 2002. I recently sent these photos to the current owner of the mine, John Schreiner, and he commented that "this is an enormous specimen, an awesome benitoite stoney, called that because it is included with some host Crossite material". He added that other good things about it is that it still has all the triangle tips with none missing or heavily damaged, it also has very good definition and all the lines and shape of the stone are very visible. And it is that way on both sides. This crystal has a beautiful "benoitite cornflower blue" glassy, gemmy tip at the very top, exactly where you would want “gemmy” if you had to choose, and it sits on two well placed Crossite matrix spheres to display beautifully. The flat crystal surfaces are matte and all are lustrous in direct light (see the VIDEO).
