Description: This 1962 British import mono album from the HMV Concert Classics series of E.M.I. Records (XLP 30005) is a reissue of an original 1954 recording of Beethoven's Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109 and Sonata No. 31 in A flat major, Op. 110. Both are performed on piano by Dame Myra Hess. Album notes are in English by Trevor Fisher. The inner sleeve is actually a wax paper envelope (see Photo 3) with a large foldover flap along the top to fully enclose the record. The outer sleeve shows a small index label and handwritten name in pencil at the upper right corner of the back. (Photo 2) This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
