Description: Offered here is this Beautiful Vintage Gene Doris Velvety Ladies Hat. It is in exceptionally good condition, with truly little wear at all. I am unsure of the actual age of the hat but based on the style I would guess that it dates to the 1930s or 1940s. It has a label in it that states Gene Doris, New York. I am unsure of the type of material that the hat is made from. It feels very velvety, but looks more like some type of mohair, or some other organic material, although it may be simple velvet, with a distinct knap. It is a small shallow hat that would have been held in place with a hat pin and is has a thin mesh on the front that would have most likely been pulled down over the top portion of the face. The hat is 9.25” from front to back, 8” from side to side, but 5” side to side across the actual head space. It is a beautiful vintage lady’s hat in great, wearable condition. It would be a genuinely nice addition to any vintage clothing collection.
