Description: Up for sale is a beautiful vintage folk art oil painting depicting a humorous country scene of a woman calling out to her husband as he sticks his head out of the outhouse. Clearly in trouble, the man sticks his head through the crescent shaped window, not even the door. A wispy beard and balding head, this scene is wonderfully depicted and well executed. I particularly like all the trees, flowers and small turtle in the foreground easily overlooked. Signed low left "B.F. Yaw" I have been unable to identify the artist. Showing lovely color and brushwork, this painting is executed in oil on canvas board measuring 8 x 10 inches while its thin period wood frame measures 9.75 x 11.75 inches. The condition of this painting is excellent showing minimal surface dirt/grime while its period wood frame shows some wear.
