Description: Antique Writing Slope - Box * Victorian writing slope. * Hinged to enclose a purple felt insert on sloping writing surface, recesses and pen tray. Felt is in like new condition. * Walnut and mahogany. * White wood escutcheon around keyhole. * Light wood rectangle centered on lid. * Mahogany inside the compartments. * Secret compartment. * 14" x 9" x 4 1/2". * Two sizes of ink bottles. Larger one appears to be a modern reproduction which fits perfectly, smaller may also be relatively new but it is hard to tell. * Small neat repair at left lower corner of front side. * Visible split in top panel of lid. * Key and lock works. * Very good condition. Weight 5 lb. 9 oz.
